my favorite installment thus far. I LOVE how you've taken it to the non physical world. and I LOVE that you had your first foray into alchemizing the dark to light w/ the some of the energy that Adrienne Shelly left behind. She would totally appreciate this. She was an Artist and so are you. Artists get it . If one cant seek out and mine the humor in the depths of the darkest shit of their lives and then alchemize that shit into comedy gold , then wtf is one even doing here w/ their time on this planet . you're an inspiration Lauren Reeves, you keep doin you (AND KEEP THESE BABIES COMIN!!!!)
The passing reference to Adrienne Shellyโs murder made me deeply uncomfortable. Describing her as โan actress murdered by a handymanโ feels salacious and reductive. It also feels deeply disrespectful to her and her family presume she was trapped in a foyer sending messages to a stranger six years after she died. Maybe not everyone should be fodder and footnotes in someone elseโs story.
You're right. I didn't want to share her name since it's such a tragic story, but I hope I fixed the wording. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.โค๏ธ What happened to her so horrible, and I did feel her precense in many ways in throughout the building.
Lauren, thank you for sharing your story, Iโm glad to hear of your friendship with Cecilia and if Ashley is really lurking here, how sad, she hasnโt learned anything at all. I think this story is coming to a close and I have a few questions that I hope you donโt mind answering if they donโt get answered in the final installments:
1: Did Ashley really convince professionals at โPsyche USAโ that she was ok? If so, thatโsโฆdisturbing.
2: I assume youโll cover this in the end, but are Cecilia and the kids ok now? Is she still with Ashley? Is she still picking up the pieces?
3: Can I ask what is it that YOU think stopped you from ignoring the red flags? Because it canโt have just been for โthe story.โ Was it that maybe you didnโt want to know? Was there a time that you actually think you may have been falling for Ashley (as much as someone can fall for a fake persona).
4: Did the $30k ever actually get put into your account (twice?) and what ended up happening with that money?
You are not obligated to respond to this obviously, Iโm just curious in case these things go unanswered before itโs all wrapped up.
Iโve been following along for a long while silently but I feel continually compelled to comment- I hope in a way that is respectful to the author, but also to the actual real people being affected by this. Lauren, you seem like a funny person and likely do your job on reality shows well. However thatโs what this is feeling like now- a reality show. With no true thought or care of the people being hurt by this. As a reader, I canโt wait for it to continue. But as a person who understands a little deeper, I can really only see how everyone else in this story is feeling. Sure itโs funny and likely cathartic for you to write this out years later, but letโs stop dragging it along and be aware of Cecelia in the least. As someone said in the comments a couple posts ago, Cecelia has children with Ashley- she is quite literally stuck with her for life. And you know Ashleyโs rampages havenโt stopped. Please finish the story so they(the people being affected) can get on with their lives in the most peaceful way possibly
I appreciate your comment, and Iโm very aware of Cecelia, and have been sending chapters to her before they are released. I hope by the end of this story, which is most likely one post away, it will be clear why this story is coming out. And there is no right way to handle an abusive person. To either stay silent or to talk about it. And I wish Iโd never met Ashley, but this happened and I wrote about it in an open way, where I am owning the red flags I ignored.
Stoked to hear of your sisterhood with Cecelia!!

Yay for Cecilia friendship! ๐
Lol this energy witch is wild, and I want to know everything about them.
Lovely twist with your witch.

I really appreciate that. Her death stayed with me which is why I clocked so quickly that it was her. โค๏ธ
Of course. I still think about her a lot and hope her family has found peace. โค๏ธ
Pfft
